Sam is a second generation acupuncturist, holistic nutritionist and board certified Traditional Chinese Medicine provider with a specialty in Japanese palpation-based diagnosis and musculoskeletal trigger point therapy and cosmetic acupuncture. He is also currently the Assistant Academic Dean at Yo San University, one of the top acupuncture schools in the country. He has a passion for natural approaches to restore health and achieve optimum function of the body, mind and spirit using Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition, lifestyle and supplementation. He focuses on nervous system health, pain management, chronic inflammation, allergies and gut health.
Sam earned his masters degree in acupuncture and herbal medicine from Emperor's College in Santa Monica, CA and is a graduate and teaching assistant with the physician medical acupuncture course Acumed: Integrated Structural Acupuncture in Boston.
He grew up around Chinese Medicine in Cambridge, MA and trained closely with his father Joseph Audette, MD, the President of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, an internationally renowned expert in myofascial trigger point therapy. Sam has been featured in popular Chinese Medicine podcasts such as Qiological for his close studying with Japanese Masters such as Kiiko Matsumoto.
He has also studied with master practitioners from Taiwan, China and Korea such as Dr. Jian Feng Li, Dr. Christine Chang, Dr. Anne Park and Dr. Chungling Wang. His Japanese palpation-based approach allows him to assess the function of the digestive system, nervous system and internal organs as well as pinpoint musculoskeletal blockages to healing to individualize treatment for each patient.
He currently works at his private practice in Culver City with Felice Acupuncture and in Torrance with Trinity Acupuncture. Prior to embarking onto the journey of Chinese medicine, he worked in documentary film and graduated with his BA from The University of Chicago in 2017 with a focus on religious history, philosophy and film.
